
Class Attire
What to wear and which shoes to bring for every class.
Creative Dance and Ballet/Tap Combo — All Ages
Leotard and tights in any color. Leather or canvas ballet slippers, preferably pink, fitting snugly. Mary Jane-style tap shoes with snap or velcro fasteners, preferably black. A ballet skirt attached to the leotard or with pull-on elastic is fine — no skirts that tie at the waist. Hair pulled back into a ponytail, bun or braids.
Teeny Bop Hip Hop/Jazz
Comfortable dance clothes such as leggings, joggers, dance top or t-shirt. Clean, dry sneakers used only in the studio to protect the Marley floor. Hair pulled back.
Foundations Ballet/Tap/Jazz
Leotard and tights. Ballet slippers (preferably pink), Mary Jane tap shoes (preferably black), and slip-on jazz shoes in any color. Optional pull-on ballet skirt. Hair pulled back.
Acro — All Levels
Bare feet and comfortable, form-fitting dance clothes. Hair pulled back. No dangly jewelry or oversized clothes.
Ballet I
Leotard and tights. Ballet slippers, preferably pink. Optional pull-on ballet skirt. Hair pulled back.
Ballet II–V and Teen Ballet
Leotard and tights. Canvas or leather ballet slippers, preferably pink. Short ballet skirt may be worn. Hair pulled back, preferably in a bun or twist.
Jazz I–IV and Teen Jazz
Dance attire such as leotard, leggings, shorts or dance tops. Pull-on jazz shoes in any color; recital shoe color announced in early spring. Hair pulled back.
Tap I–IV and Teen Tap
Dance attire. Black Oxford-style laced tap shoe (Tap I may wear Mary Jane style). Hair pulled back.
Hip Hop I–III and Teen Hip Hop
Comfortable dance attire. Clean, dry studio-only sneakers to protect the Marley floor. Hair pulled back.
Leaps and Turns / Dance Conditioning
Dance attire. Jazz shoes, turners or bare feet. Hair pulled back.
